NatHealthcareDecDay logo dateless new
The Louisiana Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment (LaPOST) Coalition is partnering with other local, state and national health care organizations as well as communities across the state to encourage discussions about advance care planning during National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). Observed annually on April 16, NHDD is an initiative that calls for patients and families to have open conversations about their health care wishes, and to document those wishes in writing.

In recognition of NHDD, LaPOST will engage in several activities to promote community awareness about the value of advance care planning. They include a regional television ad campaign in the Acadiana, Greater Baton Rouge, Greater New Orleans and Monroe areas featuring local leaders and community members, a social media awareness campaign entitled #HonorMyWishes and media interviews.

Get More Info In addition, the cities of Baton Rouge, New Roads, Monroe, Lafayette and the State of Louisiana have issued proclamations officially recognizing April 16, 2016, as NHDD.
