Quality Forum Launches Consumer Engagement Video Challenge
In an effort to engage and inspire more health care consumers in Louisiana, the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum has launched a month-long video challenge. Participants are asked to record a 90-second or less video explaining how they are engaged in their health. The winner will receive a new 16 GB Apple iPad® Air. Deadline for submissions is Feb. 8. LaPOST Launches Toolkit for Long-Term Care Professionals
The Louisiana Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment (LaPOST) website now features new resources designed for nursing facility personnel. The Long-Term Care Professional Toolkit offers educational materials about advance care planning and assists facility staff in understanding, implementing and using the LaPOST document. A specialized course, entitled Implementing LaPOST in Your Long-Term Care Facility, is also now available online. |Quality Forum’s DuFour Named Telehealth Taskforce Chair
Lonnie DuFour, Director of Client Services for the Quality Forum, has been appointed Chairman of Louisiana’s
Telehealth Access Task Force. DuFour is a recognized champion of telehealth in Louisiana and has spoken
at numerous state and regional conferences about the value of telehealth in advancing access to quality,
connected health care for patients. He has been a member of the task force for several years and serves as
the Louisiana Project Coordinator for the Texas/Louisiana Telehealth Resource Center, based at Texas Tech
University in Lubbock, Texas.

OLOL Students Generate Buzz for Quality Forum Initiatives
The Quality Forum partnered with Our Lady of the Lake College (OLOL College) to provide professional experience to students of
OLOL College’s Health Service Administration – Health Care Marketing class. As part of the service-learning partnership, the students
developed two social media-based campaigns to drive awareness for the Quality Forum’s patient engagement campaign, Your Health
In Your Hands, and the Louisiana Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment (LaPOST) initiative. The campaigns created by the
students can be viewed on the Your Health In Your Hands and LaPOST Facebook pages.
